The object of the workshop theme was the restoration and reorganization of the interior and exterior spaces of the IUAV faculty.
The project has followed a logical process of separation between container and contained; container, which in this case is the nineteenth century factory of the old Venetian cotton mill, and it contains all the functions to be devoted to lectures and laboratory.
The building has been cleaned and freed from superfetations in the most significant volumes, it is occupied today by archives and deposits. The functions have been incorporated using simple volumes and the distributive system, which has been rationalized and designed to enhance existing products symbol productive function. It is grafted auditorium volume as a symbol object, which takes the stylistic elements from the Scolari wings, overlooking the Giudecca canal.
